The Yankees won the American League East for the first time in over a year.

The Yankees sewed up the division title thanks to their win over the BlueJays.

The Yankees secured their place in the playoffs with a win over Boston. The Bronx Bombers have been in the playoffs for six years in a row.

Yankees fans were concerned about their team's lead in the division. Their lead in the American League East went from as much as 3.5 games on Sept. 9 to as little as 1.5 games after the All-Star break.

The first half of the season was a great one for the Yankees, as they opened up a significant lead in the American League East. Before the All-Star break, their 64-28 record was the best in baseball.

During the team-wide issues, Judge was able to keep the train on the tracks for the majority of the time. The reigning American League Most Valuable Player entered Tuesday's game hitting.364/.500/.818 with 27 homers and 58 runs scored in his last 60 games.

Since MLB adopted the three-division-per-league format in 1995, the Yankees have won the American League East 21 times. In the past 27 years, they haven't had more than five seasons between division titles.

The Yankees are in a good position to benefit from the new format, which rewards the top two division winners in each league with a bye to the division series. The Astros have the best record in the American League.

The Yankees lost to the Astros in the ALCS in the last time they won the ALCS. They would like to make their first World Series appearance.
