A special master set to review tens of thousands of documents in the Department of Justice's investigation of Donald Trump may have to wait a bit longer.
The DOJ wants Raymond Dearie to give them more time to turn over non-classified documents. None of the five vendors they suggested to digitize the cache of documents were willing to be involved in the case, according to federal prosecutors.
The DOJ said in a filing on Tuesday that no of the five document-review vendors proposed by the government were willing to be engaged by the court. To avoid further delay in the vendor's scanning and processing of the Seized Materials, the government issued a request for a task order this afternoon with a deadline of tomorrow.
The government is confident that at least one vendor will respond to the prosecutors' offer.
They estimated that between the selection of a vendor and scanning of the files, the turnover could be completed by October 7.
The Trump team has been asked to provide proof that the FBI planted evidence during their search of Mar-a-Lago, which Trump has claimed. The DOJ asked Trump's team to submit an inventory list of the seized materials.
The Special Master needs to be aware that he is reviewing all of the materials seized from Mar- a-Lago before he adjudicates privilege claims.
