Hugh Jackman retired from playing the role of Wolverine after his performance in the movie. The old X-men are not always dead. Ryan Reynolds apologized to fans for the lack of news about the third movie in the series. He made up for it by saying that he didn't know what to do for the third movie.

In the video, he agreed to reprise his signature role for the 10th time. The current age of comic book movies was born out of the success of X-men. For 17 years, he played the same superhero in a movie. It will be extended to 24 years.
There are some questions about how Wolverine will be integrated into the film, especially since it's likely that a younger actor will play the role. The plot details are irrelevant as long as he is there in the movie.
In the video, Reynolds also showed off the logo for the third movie in the series, which has the number 3 on it. Hopefully that means that he will have more than a small role. He is one of three actors from 20th Century Fox's X-Men movies to reprise their roles in the MCU. Patrick Stewart had a role in Doctor Strange and Evan Peters had a role in WandaVision.
Shawn Levy has worked with both Reynolds and Jackman before. It may have been a factor in getting Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds back together for the first time in years. Reese and Wernick will be working on the sequel.
The third movie in the "Deadpool" series will be released on September 6, 2020.
