Tom Hanks will release his first novel, The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece, in May of next year.

The novel will include three comic books created by Hanks.
Hanks told People that the book draws heavily on his experience in the film industry, saying that even the foolish moments are some kind of stunt he's pulled or mistake he's survived.
UncommonType, a collection of short stories, was published by Hanks in 2017.
Hanks told People that he hopes the book captures the accidental judgements and casual slaughter that go into a motion picture.
