Key Background

In May of last year, popular dating apps collaborated with the Biden Administration to promote vaccinations and allow users who got the Covid-19 shot to display their vaccine status on their profiles. Premium features or boosted profiles of vaccine users were provided by some apps. The White House said at the time that people who were planning to get a vaccine had received more matches on OkCupid.

Big Number

A 67.8% figure. Nearly two years after the shots first became available, only a small percentage of Americans are still not fully protected against the coronaviruses. Younger people are more likely to use dating apps than older people. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, less than half of Americans ages 18 to 24 and less than half of Americans ages 25 to 49 are fully vaccineed.
