The extent of Ball's knee issues was revealed in Tuesday's press conference.
Ball said he couldn't play basketball. I am unable to run or jump.
His activities are being affected by the injury.
He said it was every day. Going up stairs is still painful.
In September, the Bulls announced that Ball would have an arthroscopic debridement of his left knee and that he wouldn't be able to play in the opener.
Since joining the Bulls, Ball has become concerned about his health. In his first season with the team, he played just 35 games because of a knee injury.
The Chicago Bears shut him down in April because he continues to experience pain with high-level physical activity.
The UCLA product has been disappointing for the Bulls. When he was on the floor, they were a contender, but they lost in the first round when he was out.
When Ball is out, Chicago can still turn to Coby White, Alex Caruso, Goran Dragi and Ayo Dosunmu in the backcourt, but it's better to compete in the Eastern Conference when he's on the floor.
