Major Florida airports suspend operations ahead of Hurricane Ian

There are major disruptions for air travelers in Florida.

As Ian approaches as a Category 3 storm, several of the state's busiest airports are suspending operations.

At 10:30 a.m., the seventh-busiest airport in the world will cease operations. The day is Wednesday. Passengers with rebooking information can contact the airport.

A growing number of Florida airports said they would stop flights and close their terminals during the storm. Customers are urged not to come to the airport after 5 pm.
