South Carolina football moves up game to Thursday because of threat of Hurricane Ian

The game between South Carolina and South Carolina State will be played on Thursday night due to the threat of Ian.

At 7 p.m., the game will start. There is an hour and a half later. It was supposed to happen in Columbia on Saturday.

The South Carolina athletic director said it was in the best interest of safety to play the game on Thursday. South Carolina State head coach Buddy Pough, the South Carolina State administration and the SEC officials made the appropriate operational adjustments to accommodate the change in the schedule.

Is that correct? "Based on the current forecast and expected weather conditions as well as information from our campus, state and local law enforcement agencies, the University is confident in our ability to host the game on Thursday."

South Carolina improved to 2-2 with a win over Charlotte last Saturday.

The USC went to the Duke's Mayo Bowl last season and beat North Carolina.
