The history was waiting to be written.

The Wales football team was given a speech by Michael Sheen.

He received a Wales shirt with his name on it during a visit to the training facility.

His monologue on Sky's A League of Their Own gained huge support from Wales fans.

Wales will be going to the World Cup in the winter for the first time in over 50 years.

I couldn't come and see you and not give you something to take with you.

I will give you something to take with you if I modify what I did before.

He took a deep breath and got going.

"Yma o hyd!" He said yma o hyd.

The late Gary Speed, manager Rob Page and the red wall of Wales fans were all mentioned in the speech.

He joked that he was still available for the World Cup despite his emotional address.

He said off before he met the other players.

Some fans would like to see Wales take Michael Sheen with them to the tournament.

O hyd. O hyd. We are here.

The voices are singing and speeding your journey.

The nation is singing together.

A song of hope, a song of defiance, a victory song that rolls over the mountain tops, like a red mist.

The spirit of '58 and Jimmy Murphy's boys can be heard in the sound of a storm.

Rob's page was found on the pages of the history books.

It's still waiting to be done.

Will you write there?

Do you want to write your name on that page?

Sixty four years away from home. The land of our fathers was far away.

The land of my fathers is called Nhadau.

When you're standing in this room, listening to that song of songs starts up, shoulder to shoulder with the guys in this room.

All of them were chosen by the divine.

Close your eyes and feel the breath on the back of your neck when you are standing next to each other.

Every man, woman and child in this land are with you.

The people of Wales are shown. You have your people.

With yours, feel their breath quicklyening.

It's the blood of Wales that's drumming in your ears.

Your blood is the ancient book of dreams.

The flag of Merthyr has a red color. The wall of Gwalia was covered in red.

That is what you carry with you.

You can see it on your chest over the course of 64 years.

You have it at your back. You can see it at your side.

They'll always say we're too small, too slow, too weak, too full of fear, but yma o hyd, you sons of Gary Speed.
