The Southern Schneeferner in the Alps has been stripped of its status as a glacier by scientists in Germany.

Germany now has only four glaciers left.

There is an ice sheet south of the country's highest peak. The last four years have seen it shrink by half, according to researchers.

It can't be considered a glacier because it's now less than 6 feet thick in most places.

The remaining ice will melt away in a couple of years.

Many of Europe's glaciers are likely to disappear due to climate change, according to experts.
