Christian Bale Reveals Why He Shunned Chris Rock On Set: 'I Can't Do It Anymore'

Chris Rock and Christian Bale didn't get along on the set of "Amsterdam."

Rock made Bale laugh so much that he couldn't stay in character while working on the film.

He said that he couldn't act because he was laughing at Chris Rock.

He said he had to go to him because he couldn't do it anymore. David didn't want me to make this film so he could just watch me laugh. He wants me to be a character, and I don't know how to be one.

According to Bale, he had to take that step during other films as well.

He told the website that he isolated himself from the people he met. I don't believe what I'm doing in the scene if I get to know a lot of people.

The ensemble cast of "Amsterdam," which also includes John David Washington, is set to release in October.
