According to a report, some drivers are worried that they are delivering drugs accidentally.

Six drivers from the US and Australia told NBC News that they were worried that customers were using them as drug mules.

A driver said he took a package to the police station after he was given a bag.

The driver told the outlet that he couldn't see anything inside. I assumed it was a narcotic when I saw it.

According to NBC News, the driver took the package to the police because he was afraid the customer would find him on the app.

"If this person can see that I've diverted from the route, and if they know the area, they can see I'm sitting outside the substation," he said.

Customers can't use the service to deliver illegal items, alcohol, medication, or recreational drugs. Parcels are sealed and drivers are not allowed to open or look inside them.

Representatives for the company didn't respond to Insider's request for comment.

"When we receive this type of report, our global safety team investigates and may take actions ranging from deactivating the relevant account to reporting the issue to law enforcement," the statement read.

The misuse of shipping and transportation platforms to deliver drugs is an industry wide issue and we will continue partnering with law enforcement to address it.

Since its launch, the company has faced scrutiny. There have been allegations of sexual assault from both drivers and female passengers.
