According to a Texas federal court filing, the person who arrived to serve the documents was met at the door by the wife of the attorney general.

The woman was told by the man that he was on the phone and in a hurry to leave.

After waiting for more than an hour on the street in front of the residence, Herrera saw Paxton leaving his garage and approaching him by calling his name, after which he returned to the house.

According to the filing, Paxton ran from the door inside the garage to the truck after his wife opened the passenger door.
