According to multiple sources, the New York Giants wide receiver suffered a serious left knee injury in the game against the Dallas Cowboys.

The injury happened in the last minute of the game. The fear is that Shepard's season is over when the final diagnosis is made on Tuesday.

Through three games, Shepard leads the Giants with 154 yards receiving yards, despite missing most of the summer after tearing his right achilles. He has played the most snaps of all the players.

It is difficult. It's a tough sport. Guys work hard to recover from injuries. If he's out for the whole season, you hurt for those guys because you watch them in the rehabilitation room. It's not a good thing.

Shepard was carrying a lot of work early in the season. A maintenance day was given to him.

He was jogging near the right sideline in the final minutes of the game. The players from both teams came over and offered encouragement.

It is difficult. I'm not going to say something that isn't true. Slayton said it was hard to not get emotional about the injury. Since the day I got drafted, he's been here. He's helped me a lot as a young man. It's hard to see how hard he worked to get back out there after coming off the injury.

The play ended in an intercept. That didn't matter in the moment.

Shepard was on the floor.

One of Shepard's best friends on the team said it was difficult. I think I'm one of the biggest competitors, but when I saw Shep was down, I was a bit confused. I knew it was a pick, but I didn't want to go over there. I dropped and said a prayer. He's been through a lot of injuries recently, it's difficult to come back and battle the way he has, and to go down on a play like that, it's a tough way to end a game.

For the 10th time in 11 tries, the Giants lost to their division rivals.

Shepard has been with those losses for a long time. He has been with the Giants for a long time. He's been with the team since he was drafted in the second round.

The veteran receiver took a pay cut in order to stay with the Giants. This is the latest blow to a career that has deviated off track.

Daniel Jones hates to see that for him. Everyone deserves that, but especially him. For all of us, he works his tail off.

Shepard has been a consistent producer for the Giants. He's been unable to stay on the field.

He has missed four games in a row because of injuries. He's had a lot of injuries in the last few years. His knee is now.

"I feel bad for the guy," he said.

Shepard was able to return from the injury in just over eight months. He played in the season opener against Tennessee after looking good at practice. He scored a touchdown in that game.

Shepard has over 4,000 yards and 22 touchdown catches.
