Texas A&M leading wide receiver Ainias Smith will be out for the rest of the season with a leg injury.
Smith was injured while blocking in the third quarter of the Arkansas game. Smith's father, Maurice, told the Bryan College Station Eagle that his son had a broken leg. Smith leads Texas A&M with 15 catches.
Fisher said diversity and leadership would be missed by Texas A&M. The best he can do is help those guys and mentor them. I love him because he's a unique competitor and he's a unique player. It's an unfortunate circumstance.
Smith has 128 career catches for 1,612 yards and 17 touchdown, as well as 358 rushing yards and four touchdown on 67 carries.
He has started games in each of the last four seasons.
Smith could come back to Texas A&M in 2023 because of the extra season of eligibility.
Smith is rated as the 114th best prospect for the NFL draft.
