Members of Suns organization react to Sarver saga (1:33)

The members of the Suns organization met with the media to discuss their thoughts on Robert Sarver. There is a time and a place for it.

The mood at media day revealed a team still in shock as the Suns move on to a new chapter.

The results of the NBA investigation led to the announcement of his intentions. The details of the report seemed to shake the organization.

The key voices in the organization arrived at the lectern with grim faces and no excitement.

Monty Williams was in disbelief. You start to think about how these things affect the people when you see the bullet points.

James Jones said it was a state of shock. It's not something you want around the organization. You don't want that to be the problem.

Chris Paul said it was difficult to read all the different things. People have to endure a lot in the workplace.

The longest-tenured Suns player, who is starting his eighth season, said that it was not the Robert that welcomed him to Phoenix.

I'm not prejudiced to anyone involved in the situation. Everybody's experience with other people will be different.

The report's confirmation of Sarver's repeated use of the N-word, which was brought to light by an investigation, seemed to strike the strongest chord.

I've never liked that word. When I was young, I learned what that word meant. I learned that it was not just black people who were degrading. I was not happy about the report at all. It's not a word that's repeated many times. When you read the report, you see the bullet points over and over again, that's really bothering you.

The NBA banned the team from playing for a year and Jones said he had not been in touch with them. Before and after the ruling, Paul said he had been in touch with Silver.

It wasn't the only issue that was pulling at the team's confidence from last year's 64 win season.

The Suns said they'd granted the request of the veteran forward. Sources said that he requested a trade after he was told that he might lose his starting job. During the summer, the Suns had discussions about it, but hadn't found a deal. It looks like his time with the team is over.

"Jae brought a lot of intangibles to the team, I think all of our guys would speak in that way about him." You have to move forward after these things happen. I support James and the way we are handling this.

Deandre Ayton signed a four-year, $133 million offer sheet with the Pacers that the Suns quickly matched. There seemed to be some scars after a year of tense negotiations between Ayton and the Suns.

Ayton said that he let his agents handle it. I don't want to go back.

Jones and Williams both signed extensions to stay with the team. Booker signed a $224 million extension that will keep him with the Suns until28. The team is returning the core of the roster than won a league-best 64 games last season, and there is now clarity that sarver will not be a distraction.

There was nothing positive to come from those moves. Booker made a joke about being on the cover of the NBA 2K video game in the first 90 minutes of the interview.

The team's disastrous Game 7 home loss to the Dallas Mavericks in May of last year, as well as brief discussions about trading for Kevin Durant, are not covered.

Williams said that they had a chance to see lights and different views. It was one of those summers that you will never forget.
