All Covid-19 border restrictions will be dropped by Canada on October 1.

Transport Canada said that Canada will end requirements for travelers on planes and trains.

Canada requires foreign travelers to bevaccinated to enter the country, and unvaccinated travelers to be tested upon arrival, similar to the U.S.

'A win for the cruise industry'

Cruise lines immediately applauded the news as it allows them to drop vaccinations and testing requirements on Alaska and Atlantic Canada itineraries.

The president of Holland America Line called the changes "a win for the cruise industry and for our guests, as we are seeing growing interest for booking voyages to Alaska and Canada/New England."

The change puts health protocols in line with most of our other global cruises.

All guests on cruises visiting, arriving or departing from Canadian ports will now be welcomed by Princess Cruises.

"Alaska and Canadian cruises are among the most desired vacation options in the world, and we look forward to welcoming everyone who's waited the past three years for this market to fully open," said John Padgett, President of Princess.
