Most Lufthansa award space is not available to United Mileage Plus members.
Air Canada, ANA and other Star Alliance partner websites show Lufthansa awards, but the United website does not. This has been verified on a number of routes.
On October 27, 2022, Air Canada Aeroplan will show award tickets from Denver International Airport to Germany.
The LifeMiles points currency can be used to book the awards.
You can only book the United flight if you want to see the Lufthansa one.
There is a flight from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to Germany. Award availability in economy class is shown by Air Canada, Singapore Airlines, LifeMiles and ANA.
Economy class seats are only available on the United website.
This isn't the first time United has had this problem. The award space disappeared from MileagePlus in July of 2021. Our tests show that the issue is more widespread.
"We are aware of this issue and are working with our partners to restore the award option as quickly as possible," said a United spokesman. We believe that this is a website issue and that the awards will return to United MileagePlus.

The United MileagePlus members can't book most award tickets right now.
You have to look into other Star Alliance points currencies to book a award. Air Canada Aeroplan and Avianca LifeMiles do not pass on fuel surcharges, so we recommend booking with either program.
