The changes were confirmed by Anne Yeh.
Changes to the main navigation bar are being tested with a small group of people.
The decision to move the tab is a conscious one by the company. According to an internal memo, the button that leads to the shopping page is going to be eliminated in March 2023. According to The Information, the platform will test a less personalized shopping page called Tab lite.
The shop tab has been added to the platform in an effort to make it a place where users can buy products they see on their feed. It is not known how successful the shopping page was, despite the fact that lots of users use it to discover new brands and products.
An update to messaging that allows business owners to handle customer service via direct mail is one of the new features rolled out by Meta.
As we continue to make it easier for people to discover and shop products throughout the app from feed, stories, reels and innovations like live shopping and drops, commerce remains an important part of the service.
Other platforms have tried to figure out how to make money from shopping. The company pulled back on expansion plans due to the fact that live shopping didn't take off in Europe. Product release reminders and a shop module for brands to showcase what they're selling have been introduced by the social network.
