LiAngelo Ball signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, according to reports.

The deal was completed in time for this week's start of training camp, according to Shams.

Ball is the brother of Hornets guard LaMelo Ball and Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball, the latter of whom backed his brother to succeed.

LiAngelo has been bouncing around training camps and G League affiliates since the beginning of the year. He was a member of the Hornets' G League team. Ball played in 28 games and averaged 4.5 points and 1.1 rebound.

Ball has a chance of playing himself into consideration if he doesn't make the opening night roster. Despite not having guaranteed contracts, Jaden and Nick Richards should make the roster.

The NBA future of Miles Bridges is uncertain after he pleaded not guilty to domestic violence charges. At this point, he doesn't count towards the team's roster count.

The two open roster spots are for guys competing in camp. Dennis Smith Jr., Anthony Duruji, and Jaylen Sims are all guards.

The Hornets coaching staff wants an open competition for the final guard spot, even though Smith is the favorite after spending part of last season with Portland.
