Two years after he allegedly collected millions in welfare money to fund a volleyball arena, a former state official claims that he wanted more money for a football facility.

Ex-Mississippi governor Phil Bryant's attorneys say text messages show that the quarterback reached out to him again in 2019.

Bryant's legal team claims that they were warned of the legal risks and that they continued to press for state funds.

According to the documents, Bryant was told via text. Time is working against us and we need your assistance. Your name is the perfect choice for this facility, and we are not taking no for an answer. People need to know that you are a supporter of the University.

Bryant said that he was cautious. We are going to make it there. The meeting was a success. We have to obey the law. I'm old for federal prison.

Bryant claims that he spoke with a former Southern Miss prez who claimed that he asked him not to do the things he was doing to seek funding.

He has said through his attorneys that he did not know where the funds for the facility came from.

John Davis, the former director of the Mississippi Department of Human Services, pled guilty to conspiring to cheat the State of Mississippi out of more than 70 million dollars in federal funds.

The football show on the radio station has been put on hold.
