Multiple reports say that a Russian man who was called up to fight in the war in Ukraine shot an official at a local enlistment office.

The incident took place in the city of Ust-Ilimsk in Siberia on Monday and was captured on video.

Two military officials are on stage in front of a group of new recruits who have been called up to fight in the ongoing war in Ukraine.

The video shows that a gunshot rings out and one of the officials collapses as everyone else flees in panic.

The man shouted "No one is going to go anywhere" moments before he opened fire.

The video was not verified by Insider.

Alexander Vladimirovich Eliseev is a military commandant who runs the local draft board in the Irkutsk region.

The governor of the region wrote on the Telegram app that he was in intensive care.

The Insider shared a video on social media that shows the official on a stretcher as he is taken out of the building.

The suspect was from Ust-Ilimsk, according to the report. The shooter was quickly taken into custody. In his Telegram post, Kobzev said that he would be punished.

Putin ended Russia's dependence on volunteer troops last week.

Some people tried to flee the country and others protested after his announcement.

A lot of people have been arrested.
