The New York Knicks fans may or may not be accepted by Julius Randle.

As he heads into the 2022-23 campaign, he is ready to accept the fans' fickleness that ruined his head last season.

The 2021 All-Star told fans to "shut the f--k up" after a disappointing campaign.

While apologies were made, his standing as a Knicks cornerstone is still questionable. The team did not want to sell a player it signed to a four-year extension 13 months ago.

Everyone will walk into the 2022-23 season in "prove-it" mode, especially after the Knicks failed to land Mitchell. The most high-profile figures on the team and the most expendable big names will be the focus of the spotlight, as they are.

If the Knicks don't start well, they could be in trouble, as could trade rumors for Randle if he doesn't come back to All-Star form.

The NBA is not a business that runs on the perception of overachievement. It's expected that you match or exceed the level you achieved in one season. Failing to live up to expectations can turn a media darling into a villain.
