At its launch event in September, Apple barely upgraded the "regular" iPhone 14 but made a lot of changes to the iPhone 14 Pro. The design and features of the two lines of devices are completely different.

It is possible that this will grow even bigger in the years to come. The new Apple Watch Ultra will be called the iPhone 15 Ultra instead of the usual iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Gurman didn't reveal any of the new features coming to the iPhone 15 line, but he expects Apple to make bigger changes to the devices compared to what we've seen in the past.

It's not clear if the change of branding for the largest "pro" model will mean it will get the most upgrade. This year, Apple launched a 6.7-inch variant of the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and called it the iPhone 14 Plus without giving it many additional features. The Apple Watch Series 8 is not as advanced as the Apple Watch Ultra.

Even though the launch is a year away, there are other rumors about the upcoming phone. The European Union requires all phone makers to use a Lightning port, and Gurman thinks the new models will use ausb-c instead.

According to display analyst Ross Young, the Dynamic Island-style cutout will be included in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. The supply chain probably won't be able to support the 120Hz display on the regular models.

Take all of the above with a grain of salt since it's still very early for the new phone. The most important new feature of the iPhone 14 Pro was not predicted by any of the iPhone 14 rumors. When Apple launches the actual devices, we will know for sure.
