The NFL Players Association is going to investigate Tua Tagovailoa's concussion check.

Tagovailoa left the game in the second quarter with what appeared to be a head injury. He fell to a knee after taking a hit from Matt Milano.

Tagovailoa was questionable to come back from his head injury. He returned to the field for the start of the second half and led the Dolphins to a victory.

The hit from Milano caused Tagovailoa's back to lock up, Ian Rapoport said. He was cleared after having a concussion.

My understanding of the Tua Tagovailoa situation: He tweaked his back in the 1st quarter on a sneak and didn’t miss time. After the Matt Milano hit, his back locked up — leading to him wobbling. Into the locker room for a full concussion check. Fully cleared. Now on the field.

Tagovailoa was hit late in the second quarter and taken out of the game. The passer was roughed up by Milano.

The quarterback was 8-of-10 for 76 yards and a touchdown in the first half. He finished the game with 186 yards and a touchdown.

Early in his career, injuries have been a big storyline for Tagovailoa.

The quarterback fractured his ribs in the fall of 2021. Tagovailoa missed another week after breaking a finger on his throwing hand.

When healthy, the No. 5 overall pick has shown flashes of good play, including a hot start to the season. He led the league with 739 passing yards and seven touchdown in the first two games of the year.
