The city of St. is located in the northeastern part of the United States After missing nearly 14 months because of Tommy John surgery, Tyler Glasnow is set to return to the rotation on Wednesday night.

The starter for last year's opening day hasn't pitched this year because he had a procedure in August.

"I think we're pretty confident he'll be starting for us Wednesday," Kevin Cash said before the game. He's encouraged by the fact that this is the first time in a long time that he's been pain-free.

The 6-foot-8 right-handed pitcher went 5-2 with a 2.66 earned run average in 14 starts last year, and is a key addition to the team.

Three years ago it felt like it was worse, but now it feels better. It's great to have an UCL.

According to Cash, Glasnow will throw around 45 pitches in his first outing, which will allow him to go two or three frames.

It's still a big plus for our team. I would like to get threeinnings. Great if we do. That's okay if we don't.

In four starts with Durham, he allowed one run, one hit, four walks and had 14 strikeouts.

"I'm really looking forward to it," he said. I'm approaching it the same way I always do. It feels like it.

The start of his free agency will be delayed by one year after he signed a two year contract. He will make $5.1 million this year, $5.35 million next season and $25 million in 2024, which is the first year he would have been eligible for free agency.
