  • According to a WaPo report, Trump said he didn't understand why he wasn't more appreciated.

  • "He did a good job about me and other things, I knew him from watching Fox," Trump said.

  • The report states that Trump advisers are looking for weaknesses in a potential campaign.

According to The Washington Post, Donald Trump was upset that Ron DeSantis was not more appreciative of him than he was.

According to two people who spoke with the newspaper, Trump called the governor "ungrateful" and seemed confused by his transformation from ally to potential challenger.

The congressman rocketed to the top of the polls after Trump endorsed him in the governor's race. After defeating Putnam in the primary, he defeated Andrew Gillum in the general election by a small margin.

I knew him from watching Fox and he did a good job about me. Trump said that he was an Ivy League baseball player.

I don't know what happened here. He doesn't appreciate me as much as he could.

He was a member of the baseball team at Yale.

During his first campaign for governor, Trump mentioned that the then congressman had attended Harvard Law School.

In June of last year, Trump wrote on his now-deplatformed account that a congressman from Florida was running for governor.

Ron is strong on Borders, tough on crime, and big on cutting taxes. He will be a great governor, and I have endorsed him.

Since becoming governor, he has become one of the most prominent conservative politicians in the country, signing into law a bill that bars the discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity for younger children in K-12 education.

The governor's recent immigration-related moves, where he sent a plane filled with Venezuelan immigrants to Martha's Vineyard, was just the latest in a series of headline- grabbing measures that have made him a popular would-be successor to Trump.

Despite the party's fascination with Ron DeSantis, the former president continues to attract a loyal following among most of the Republican base.

According to The Post, if Trump and DeSantis face each other in a GOP primary, the former president's advisers will point out the weaknesses of the governor, including his lack of charisma.

After leaving the White House, Trump has continued to hold political rallies, which may be difficult for even the most gifted of communicators to overcome.
