Kris Bryant will not return for the rest of the Rockies' season due to a foot injury.
Bryant said, according to MLB.com.
The goal was to end the year with 30% movement, and I'm ahead of that. I want to get as close to being able to play a game as possible, so that I can make a better approach to the off-season.
I would have gotten a shot if we were in the playoffs. The pain is masked by the use of cortisone.
Bryant missed time earlier this season with back pain and a lower back strain, but has been out since August with a foot injury. He got a blood injection in his foot.
He signed a seven-year, $182 million deal with the Rockies in March after spending most of his career with the Cubs. The Cubs traded him to the Giants.
Bryant has appeared in at least 144 games over the course of his eight-year career.
