Kyle Wright became the first 20-game winner in the majors this season as the Atlanta Braves beat Philadelphia 6-3.

The Braves are within 112 games of the Mets in the NL East. New York was defeated at Oakland.

Next weekend, the Mets and Braves play in Atlanta.

Philadelphia began the day a half-game ahead of San Diego for the second NL wild card and 212 games ahead of Milwaukee for the final spot, thanks to a sixth-inning home run by BryceHarper.

Wright became the first Braves pitcher in a decade to win 20 games when he went 513 in the game. Denny Neagle, John Smoltz, Greg Maddux, Phil Niekro and Tom Glavine are the four Hall of Famers who have won at least 20 games for the Braves.

Wright ran a high pitch count but didn't allow a hit until the sixth when he allowed a double. Harper followed with a home run, ending Wright's bid for a perfect game.

Philadelphia had a chance to tie the game with two outs in the seventh, but A.J. Minter struck out Hoskins on a 2-2 pitch. Kenley Jansen saved the game with a clean ninthinning.

The Braves took advantage of Bailey Falter's inability to keep the ball out of the middle of the plate. The Braves scored six runs and 10 hits against Falter and handed him his first loss of the season.

He hit a home run in the third. Harris hit his 19th home run in the fourth. They both had two hits.
