Daniel Hishaw Jr. breaks tackles on his way to a 73 yard touchdown run. There is a time and a place for this.

As the final seconds of the football game wound down, students poured onto the field to cheer on their team.

It's hard to act like you've been there before when it's been a long time since the Jayhawks won a game.

The Jayhawks beat Duke 35-27 on Saturday in front of a sold-out crowd to improve to 4-0 for the first time since 2009.

Daniels had 407 yards and five touchdown. He scored a touchdown with 4:42 left in the game. Daniels said that though the nation was delighted in seeing a "basketball school" gain prominence in football, the early results have been as expected.

Daniels wouldn't say that he would be surprised. It's great to know that the amount of preparation we put in is paying off.

Since 2010 Kansas has won no more than three games in any season, so it's hard to see how it's possible for the Jayhawks to be a perfect four. The Jayhawks' football program has made them a joke about it.

He saw an opportunity when he arrived. He knew that the Jayhawks could win again. He began to shift the culture and mindset in the locker room, holding players to high standards while instilling the confidence and belief that this team could win.

There were some signs that the program might be turning a corner. After upsetting Texas on the road, the Jayhawks lost to both West Virginia and TCU.

The players were more competitive in the off-season.

"We knew this would happen," Grimm said. This was what we wanted. We came out after winter, and we were like we were going to earn this, and the hard work that everyone has put in, we're earning what we have been working for.

He is at the center of it all. He is the first player in school history to score at least five times in a single game.

The highest percentage of passes Daniels has completed since 2008 was 84.6%.

The Jayhawks have scored 27 touchdown this season. It had only 32 in the entire year.

In all, Kansas had a season-high 528 yards against Duke and has recorded 500 or more in three of four games this season.

It's enough for Daniels to get some national attention and have his name linked to the trophy.

He is a great player. I am all for it. Who runs the campaign? Let's start. I don't cast a ballot. Leipold said that he had done a great job getting a lot of people to notice the program.

It was difficult for Kansas. Duke never quit despite the fact that the Jayhawks got off to a quicker start. The Jayhawks went three and out after Leonard threw a touchdown pass. Daniels believes he missed a chance to go for a first down.

Leonard threw a 40-yard pass to Jalon to the Duke 45 after Duke got the ball back. The defense held Duke to a single first down on a penalty to seal the victory.

One of the biggest things that Leipold has learned about his team is the fact that Kansas has won three games in which it had to rally to win.

"The belief in what we're doing when times are tough, how we're overcoming those tough moments, things that we saw late last year, I've seen it play out with body language and things of that nature on the sideline probably better than I anticipated", Leip
