A team source confirmed Saturday that left tackle Taylor Lewan is out for the season because of a knee injury.

The offensive tackle wouldn't play again in the year 2022.

Lewan was hurt on the first play of the game. His knee buckled when he tried to block down on the defensive end.

Lewan went to Los Angeles for a second opinion on the injury after the team thought he'd be out for the season.

Dennis was in for Lewan and played the entire game. The left tackle for Sunday's game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the TennesseeTitans will be named on Friday.

Lewan has been injured recently. He tore his right knee in the second week of the 2020 season and missed the rest of the year. He has only appeared in 47 games over the past five years.

After this season, the ninth-year veteran will carry a $14.8 million salary cap charge, which will be a big decision for the team. Releasing Lewan would not have a cap on the team.
