Emma Raducanu
Raducanu's loss to Ostapenko means the 2021 US Open champion misses out on her first final of a regular WTA Tour event

The Great Britain's Emma raducanu is out of the Korea Open due to an injury.

During the second set, the 19-year-old took a medical timeout as she struggled with an injured left thigh.

She continued as Ostapenko won the second set, but conceded the match.

Ostapenko will face second seed Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia.

Since winning the US Open in 2001, the British number one has struggled with various injuries and has retired mid- match on a number of occasions.

After a nervy first service game where she was broken by the former French Open champion, she regained composure and broke back immediately and then served out the set.

However, Ostapenko took control of the match when the British player came back to the court after taking a medical timeout.

The 25-year-old raced to a 2-0 lead in the third when the game was stopped.

The last time she won three in a row was after her US Open triumph.
