An advisor to the January 6 committee said he traced a call from a rioter's phone to the White House while the Capitol was under siege

On the day of the insurrection, a call with a rioter may have been coming from inside the White House, according to a former technical advisor.

While the US Capitol was under siege, Dan Riggleman, a former Republican congressman and technical advisor to the January 6th committee, traced a call to the White House switchboard. He told CBS that he didn't think the call was accidental.

"You get a real 'a-ha' moment when you see that the White House switchboard had connected to a rioter's phone while it's happening." That's a really big moment.

He said in the interview that he couldn't confirm who was on the phone. There was a seven-hour gap in the White House call logs. In 2021,

"I only know one part of that call," he said. According to CBS, Riggleman stopped working with the committee in April after helping conduct an analysis of phone records and data related to the coordination of the insurrection.

The final session of the public hearing will be held on September 28. The panel will hear from the conservative activist and the wife of the Supreme Court Clarence Thomas.
