We kept Mitchell Robinson for four years. We are very lucky that we were able to keep him because he has developed over the last few years. We got the No. 1 point guard in free agency this summer. We are very happy about the summer.

In Rose's first full year as the president, the Knicks made the playoffs, but fell to 11th in the Eastern Conference.

In the playoffs, the ex-Dallas Mavericks guard helped guide the team to the Western Conference finals. He scored 16.3 points on 50.2 percent shooting and 4.8 assists per game.

Mitchell admitted that the Knicks were very close to landing him, and he said that New York was very close to getting him.

Mitchell said on NBA Today that it was very close. I know a bit more than most. It's definitely a little close.

Without Mitchell, the Knicks will move on, but they are still better. They'll try to get a return trip to the playoffs when they play the Memphis Grizzlies.
