What's going on with Victoria & Albert's?

The Grand Floridian Hotel & Spa has a victorian-era themed restaurant called Victoria & Albert's. Victoria & Albert's has been located at the hotel since 1993.

"New Zealand Langoustine with Passion Fruit Nuoc Cham" and "Soft Poached Quail Egg with Caviar Galilee" are some of the items it serves. You get a menu with your name on it and can hear a harpsichord.

It appears that all that luxury comes at a cost.

The Dining Room, Queen Victoria's room, and The Chef's Table are located in the restaurant. The prices of all three rooms went up after the restaurant reopened.

The dining room's prix-fixe menu went from $185 to $295 a person. It's an additional $150 if you want wine pairs. $110 is the price for the "zero-proof" option.

The prix fixe menu in Queen Victoria's room is $375.00. That is up from the previous year. The Chef's Table will cost you $450 a person, up from $235.

The website states that this does not include tips or taxes.

How are people responding

According to the New York Post, some people are wondering if it is worth the money.

Victoria & Albert's has been on the list for a long time. It has a 4.5 star rating on the internet.

One reviewer said it was worth it for a world class dining experience. The Post noted that other people were worried about the pricing.

Back in the 90s, we ate there for our honeymoon and paid about $100 per person. It's always been on my bucket list to go back again, but not at that price.

There is a zero-proof price. They asked, "What could you get for $110 in non- alcoholic beverages?"

The Post reported that TikTokers have been more complimentary of the dining experience at the restaurant. One TikToker said he had a religious experience with some of the dishes.

The service and narrative aspects of the food were praised by others.

You could eat at Alinea in Chicago for the same price as you would at Victoria & Albert's, according to one person on the internet. The cheapest option at Alinea is $295. Meal prices can go into the hundreds of dollars.

The company did not reply to the request for comment.
