The policy agenda was unveiled by House Republicans on Friday in order to get voters to give them control of the chamber in the fall. The repeal of a piece of President Joe Biden's economic legacy is the first thing to be done.

The Inflation Reduction Act, which Biden signed into law last month, set aside 80 billion dollars for the IRS.

On the very first day that we are sworn in, it will all change. McCarthy said that the Democratic effort to strengthen the IRS would be repealed on the first bill.

Inflation has reached its highest levels in decades and the House Republican agenda pledges to fight it. It made commitments to fight crime and strengthen the economy.

This is not about partying." It's about our nation. McCarthy said that the next century would be the American century.

The policy platform was rolled out by House Republicans without McConnell's approval. McConnell decided to keep the focus on Biden's handling of the economy, without specifying what Senate Republicans would do if they regained the upper chamber. On Thursday, he encouraged the agenda.

A House that fights for American families instead of making their lives harder is what the Kentucky Republican wants.

The repeal of IRS funding is similar to the repeal of theAffordable Care Act.

The Democrats had a plan to bolster the IRS. Some people made a false claim that the IRS would be going door to door to collect taxes.

Ron Wyden said in a statement last month that there are not going to be 87,000 armed IRS agents going door-to-door with assault weapons. This money is used to answer phone calls and upgrade computers.

The Senate Republicans sent a letter to the tax agency on Thursday urging them to improve taxpayer services.

The IRS will use the funds to clear a back up of tax returns, update its computer systems and hire thousands of additional employees, according to the Treasury Secretary. Since World War II, the agency has fewer auditors and its workforce is the same as it was in the 70s. Wealthy Americans who have not paid taxes will be pursued.

During a recent visit to an IRS facility in Maryland, she said the IRS will move to staff up tax assistance centers, shorten phone waiting times for taxpayers, and begin scanning individual paper returns.
