There won't be a quarterback dilemma for the Dallas Cowboys.
Jerry Jones said on Thursday that he hoped Cooper Rush would play so well that the Cowboys could have a decision to make after the return of the injured quarterback.
McCarthy tried to say this with a straight face. It's about winning, like anything else. We don't care about anything else. There is no controversy about quarterbacks. He is our starter.
McCarthy made fun of the media's reaction to Jones' comments.
You have to have more responsibility in that. McCarthy thinks you should be able to decipher between Jerry and GM. He can do that in a similar way. You need to do a better job of that. It's time to get to work.
McCarthy said it took him some time to figure it out.
A lot of the opportunities were camouflaged by the Pandemic.
After going through on-field rehabilitation for the second day in a row, he still has a thumb injury. Rush will start for the second game in a row against the New York Giants, but Jones has not ruled out the possibility of a return for the Washington Commanders.
Jones has said on many occasions that there will be no risk of a re-break of the thumb because of the plate that was put at the joint.
The expectation is that he will play against the Giants because he missed two practices because of an illness. The statuses of wide receiver Michael Gallup, a tight end and an offensive tackle are not yet known.
