The summer of 2023 will see a major expansion by Delta Air Lines. Delta has recently added flights from Atlanta to Cape Town, Atlanta to Tel Aviv, Los Angeles to Tahiti, New York to Berlin, and New York to Stockholm.
In the summer of 2023, Delta will add a number of new routes, most of which have been used before. Routes are returning for the first time in two decades in some cases. We are going to go over what we can expect.
On April 10, 2023, Delta will add a daily year-round flight between New York and Switzerland. The plane that will operate the flight is a 757.
This is the first time since 1993 that Delta will operate this route, and the airline will face off against SWISS in this market. It is good to see a non-Star Alliance airline operating flights out of the city.
Delta will add a daily flight between New York and London on April 10, 2020. The plane that will operate the flight is a Boeing 757. Since 2012 Delta has not been operating to the airport.
The joint venture partner of Delta and Virgin Atlantic has decided to pull out of the airport. Since London is heavily slot controlled, this seems like a way for Delta to expand in London, and also compete against other airlines. British Airways has a large presence at the airport. There is only one seasonal route to the airport.
There will be a daily year-round flight between Los Angeles and London. The plane will be an A330-900neo. This will be the first time since 2015 that Delta will operate this route, and it will complement Virgin Atlantic's frequencies in the market.
American, British Airways, and United are some of the airlines that serve this market. Delta will be returning to Los Angeles for the first time since the beginning of the Pandemic.
Delta will add a daily flight between Los Angeles and Paris on May 8, 2020. The plane will be an A330-900neo. This will be the first time since 2020 that Delta will operate this route, and it will complement Air France's frequencies in the market.
There is only one airline that flies between the two airports and that is Air Tahiti Nui.
Delta will add 3x weekly flights between Atlanta and Dusseldorf on May 9, 2023. The plane that will operate the flight is a Boeing 757. This will be the first time in five years that Delta will operate this route. The only route between the US and Germany is this one.
Delta will add 5x weekly flights between Atlanta and Edinburgh as of March 26,23. The plane that will operate the flight is a Boeing 757. The last time Delta operated this route was in 2007. Out of New York and Boston, Delta flies to Edinburgh throughout the year.
Delta will add a 3x weekly year-round flight between Atlanta and Stuttgart as of May 25,23. The plane that will operate the flight is a Boeing 757. This will be the first time in five years that Delta will operate this route. The automotive industry is the main focus of this route.
The summer of 2023 will see the expansion of Delta Air lines. The return of trans-Atlantic flights out of Los Angeles is one example of the restart of pre-pandemic routes. I am happy to see that there are two secondary airports in Germany that are able to connect to the outside world.
New York to Geneva, New York to London Gatwick, and Atlanta to Edinburgh are just a few of the new routes that we haven't seen in a long time.
