After his co-anchor was not allowed to say so long to viewers, a Los Angeles TV anchor was fired. Mark Mester was fired by KTLA after they decided what he did deserved to be terminated. Mester was angry that the co-anchor was not allowed to say goodbye on air after 24 years at the station. "I want to start off right now by offering up an apology to you," Mester said, after he refused to read a segment that was supposed to be about Lynette. You are my best friend. What happened to you was not deserved. Mester called the move cruel and inappropriate. He said a plane was flying over KTLA with a banner that said "We love you" The plane was paid for by Mester. The station wouldn't budge and that's why she left.
