American Airlines does not tolerate acts of violence against its team members.
The individual involved in this incident will not be allowed to travel with us in the future.
The Association of Professional Flight Attendants said in a statement that violent behavior puts the safety of all passengers and crew in jeopardy.
Flight attendants had to enforce the federal mask mandate, which led to a spike in unruly passenger cases.
Even with a 38% increase in US air travellers, airlines have reported over 2000 incidents of unruly passengers this year, down from over 6000 last year.
