New MacBook Pro models will be released in the fourth quarter of 2022, according to a report. The next- generation 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros are likely referred to in the report.

It is looking more and more likely that the notebooks will be released later this year with 5nm chips, despite the fact that there has been uncertainty about the timing of the new MacBook Pro models. It would make sense for the new MacBook Pro models to be announced at the October event.

The new MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips were reported to be well into development and testing by Mark Gurman. The high-end MacBook Pro received a major redesign in October of 2021.

The latest design of the high-end MacBook Pro includes a flatter-edged enclosure, a notch at the top of the display, and more. MacBooks change between major hardware changes.

The new MacBook Pro models are expected to have performance and power efficiency improvements, since the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips are expected to be manufactured based on the N5P process. There will be a bigger boost in performance from the switch to 3nanometer chips in the future.

The shipments of MacBooks have remained relatively stable compared to the shipments of Windows laptops. The launch of the new MacBook Air with the M2 chip in July combined with the upcoming launch of new MacBook Pro models could result in Apple's notebook market share hitting a nearly five-year high.
