Covid: Hong Kong to end controversial hotel quarantine policy

People coming to Hong Kong will no longer have to stay in a hotel.

Travelers won't have to show a negative Covid test before boarding a plane.

They will watch themselves for three days for any signs of illness.

There was a rush for flights to Hong Kong, with the Cathay Pacific website operating a queue system.

In October, the airline said it was adding more than 200 flights.

It will take time to rebuild our capacity gradually, while we will add back more flights as quickly as possible.

Hong Kong has had some of the strictest rules in the world.

It has been a long time since it decided to leave what the mainland is doing. People are not allowed to arrive for more than two years.
