The lead attorney for the Sandy Hook victims sparred with Alex Jones.
Jones will have to pay for defamation he was found guilty of.
Jones was told to show a bit of respect in the courtroom.
Alex Jones got into a heated exchange with the lead attorney representing families of victims who died in the Sandy Hook shooting after he ranted about liberals.
Jones is currently standing trial to determine how much he will have to pay the families of victims he defamed by saying the shooting was a government-orchestrated hoax. Most of the parents of the victims are expected to testify in the trial, which is expected to last up to six weeks. The December 14, 2012 shooting left 27 people dead.
Jones and the lead attorney of the case got into a shouting match after Jones was asked if he had put a target on the back of the victim. Jones thinks thatParker is a crisis actor. Shortly after the shooting, a video was shown to the court. Multiple family members in the galley began to cry as the clip played.
"You put a target on his back, like you did every single parent and loved one?" Jones replied that he didn't.
There is a crowd of Sandy Hook victims' families in the courtroom.
"Like all the Iraqis that you liberals kill and love," Jones said.
You're amazing." Emotions can be switched on and off. Jones said it was just ambulance chasing.
"Why don't you respect this courtroom?" he asked.
The attorney for Jones objected several times during the exchange. Judge Barbara Bellis couldn't rule on the objections because the trio kept talking over each other.
Bellis told Jones to stop talking when his lawyer objected.
Bellis reached a breaking point by the end of the day. She warned him to get his client under control or she would hold him in contempt of court.
Bellis can only tell someone not to answer a question when their lawyer objects. I'm trying to be nice.
She told Jones that he needed to do a better job of following the rules. I don't want to be held in contempt. I don't want to go to a contempt hearing.
Damages can be determined in the second of three trials. In August, an Austin jury ordered Jones to pay $50 million to the parents of Jesse Lewis, who was killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Leonard and Veronique de laRosa are the parents of Noah Pozner.
Jones apologized for hurting the feelings of the victims' families during the Texas trial.
He backtracked a bit on Thursday.
I've already apologized hundreds of times and I'm done. I did not create this. Jones said that he was not the first to say it.
He doesn't apologize for the fact that he thought it was staged.
