The defense of the Ravens is an embarrassment to the team's legacy. There is a time and a place for it.

According to a source, the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a one-year contract with defensive end Jason Pierre- Paul.

After Steven Means was placed on injured reserve, the Ravens were down to two outside linebackers, Odafe Oweh andJustin Houston.

In addition to the death of Jaylon Ferguson, Baltimore has placed two other outside linebackers on injured reserve. Tyus Bowser is on the physically unable to perform list and could be back in a couple of weeks.

The biggest fourth-quarter collapse in team history happened in the Ravens' loss to the Dolphins. The Ravens have four sacks in two games this year.

Pierre-Paul met with Baltimore twice. He went to the Ravens in June but didn't get a deal.

The news came from the practice field, but many of the players weren't aware of it.

He will put us under a lot of pressure. There were a lot of sacks. It's good for us.

"Obviously, JPP's had a great career, but I don't want to talk about that right now," said Mike Macdonald. He is a great player.

Pierre-Paul was hampered by a torn rotator cuff and had 2.5 sacks in his final season with the Bolts. He had shoulder surgery in February and wasn't re-signed by the Bucs.

In the regular season, Pierre-Paul registered a team-leading 9.5 sacks, and in the playoffs, he recorded two sacks.

Pierre-Paul has 91.5 sacks in 12 seasons.
