More than one million cars in the US are being recalled because the windows may close too quickly.

The windows might not react correctly after detecting an obstruction.

The NHTSA says it is a violation of safety standards.

The problem will be fixed by a software update.

In the past, the world's largest electric-vehicle manufacturer has had run-ins with federal safety regulators.

There have been previous recalls.

  • rear-view cameras
  • bonnet latches
  • seat-belt reminders
  • sound-system software

This latest covers the Model 3, Model S, Model Y and Model X SUVs.

There was a problem with the automatic windows in August.

The owners will receive a letter from 15 November.

The updated software is needed to fix the issue, according to company documents.

There were no warranty claims or deaths related to the recall.
