The most watched program was the stream. The second most watched show was CBS' "Young Sheldon" with 3.5 million viewers.
In a deal that will cost the tech giant $1 billion a year through 2033, Amazon has exclusive rights to a package of games from the National Football League. The audience data was tracked by the company with the help of a partner.
In the three-hour period of the game, Amazon said it saw record Prime signups, beating the new subscriber additions on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Around 200 million people subscribe to Amazon Prime.
Thursday Night Football on Prime Video was a resounding success, according to a memo written by Jay Marine, global head of Amazon's sports division.
The average age of the audience was 47 years old, six years younger than the average linear audience. The stream was watched by more people than any other football game this season.
There are more than 300,000 bars, restaurants, hotels and casinos where Thursday night games can be found. The data is available on all platforms.
Amazon provides viewers with the company's next-generation statistics as well as the play-by-play stylings of former "Sunday Night Football" commentator Al Michaels and college football analyst KirkHerbstreit. Fans can pay for either a full Amazon Prime subscription or a Prime Video subscription.
