The Chicago Bears quarterback pivoted while answering a question to address comments he made following a 27-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers that he was criticized for on social media.

Fields was asked on Sunday if the loss to the Packers hurt more because of the Bears' history with their rivals in the north. The Bears fans feel worse in the locker room. They are not working at the end of the day. The guys are in the locker room. They put in a lot of work. It hurts to come out of a bad loss.

A video of those comments that did not contain the question that was presented to Fields was brought to the quarterback's attention when he received notifications for posts he was tagged in.

Fields wanted to clarify what he meant in his post game comments.

I was angry at the time. Fields wants to get everything clear up. I said after the game that the fans don't work. I wasn't happy after the game. I didn't want to speak to you. I didn't feel like talking to you guys. I should have explained what I meant by that.

I'm talking about work on Sunday when the game is played. I don't know a lot of people. I am not sure what they are doing in their personal lives. Every fan that we have is respected by me. I am happy that we have fans. I don't like disrespecting people on what they do or what they love to do. Like that, it came off. They got a big buzz out of my quote. They did a good job. Social media will definitely do that. I wanted to clarify that.

He said he turned the backlash into a lesson.

As long as I'm in this position, there's going to be things like that, so I talked to my dad about it.

Chicago's offensive game plan and lack of a passing attack has been talked about more than Fields' comments. The quarterback had 48 net passing yards in Week 2 after throwing the ball just 11 times, but Eberflus isn't worried about guarding against forcing pass plays to achieve a more balanced approach.

Eberflus said you want to see balance I don't think that's a real problem. We need that. Balance is needed in your offense in the run/pass calls.

Fields said that the Bears have full trust in Getsy's game plan and that his lack of attempts weren't a big deal.

He wouldn't have a problem if he caught zero passes and won the game. I wouldn't have any problems if I didn't throw a pass. The goal of the team is to win games. They don't look at how many passes I had or how many yards I had. All of us are trying to win the game.

Fields said he woke up an hour earlier to allow himself more time to prepare for the Houston Texans after the loss. The quarterback shed light on his desire to share more of his personality as the most front-facing player on the Bears' roster.

Fields said he was just testing the waters. I would like to show you guys a different side. I don't want to be a robot up here so I have to be more descriptive with my words.

I could be up here and say "yes, we're going to do this and that" and just be a robot." I try to show my personality to the world in order to show that I am a real person and I do make mistakes. I'm just trying to find a good balance.
