Kenny Golladay didn't like the decision to play him for just two snaps in the win over Carolina.

I don't think it's a good idea. Golladay spoke to the media for the first time since the game. I only have to come to work every day.

The Giants' prized free agent acquisition, Golladay, did not expect this to happen. Everyone in the organization has told him that he has been doing things the right way.

It confuses Golladay.

He said he should be playing. It's a fact.

The previous regime signed Golladay to be the Giants' top receiver. He signed a four-year, $72 million contract and is making $18 million this season.

Golladay wasn't able to score a touchdown in his first year with the team due to injury. The procedure he had kept him out of the picture.

Despite being on the field, Golladay looked compromised by the string of injuries. He played in the preseason finale and caught two passes for 22 yards in the season opener for the Giants.

He told Golladay that he was going with David Sills V over him. He had two catches for 17 yards in his previous career. He is making a lot of money.

Golladay has 222 catches for 3,611 yards and 21 touchdown He had 11 receiving scores. He may have lost a step. In the two years since, Golladay has two touchdown catches and less than 900 yards receiving.

After being benched for most of the game, the veteran receiver was asked if he wanted to go somewhere else.

We're going to check it out. We are going to see how it goes. I arrived to play. They are also paying me to play. I think they want to see more or something. I just keep doing what I'm told to do.

The lack of production and his contract make it unlikely that Golladay will be moved at this time. He has two years left on his base salary of $11.6 million and another $4.5 million.

It's not a problem for him to stay. Several Giants players said that he has handled the situation well.

The thing is what it is. Golladay said it was a business. I don't want to be friends with coaches. They're not employees to me.

He means business when he says the wide receiver position is an open one. The Giants have a player with 10 catches and 120 yards receiving.

Many thought that James was on the roster bubble. He was able to join the team.

From the beginning, the same line has been used. When Golladay played in the third and final preseason game, he took a similar stance. Last year's first-round pick, Kadarius Toney, played only seven snaps in the opener and Golladay barely got onto the field against the Carolina.

There is a constant competition at receiver. I've said it before. I've said that since the middle of camp. "On Sunday", he said. The thing hasn't changed. There will be a constant competition.

"We're going to let the guys compete it out, whether it's the highest-paid player, the lowest-paid player, the highest draft pick, or an untried free agent," he said. One week doesn't mean anything in the next week. Everybody knows that we are trying to get better, competing for spots, working as hard as you can, and that's what we're trying to do.

The attention of his team has been caused by the fact that he isn't playing favorites based on salary or draft status.

It's rare, but Coach always tells us he doesn't care where you get drafted. He talks about what he talks about.

Shepard has been playing the most snaps of any Giants wide receiver. He had an injury last season and is ready to go. Second place goes to Sills with 92.

It will have to be earned if Golladay has a role this season. The new regime is unrelated to Golladay.

Golladay was positive about the practice. He thinks his role this week will be a bit different.

The Giants could use him more against the Cowboys. Toney didn't take part in Wednesday's practice because of a nagging injury.
