Sky Sports News has been told that Liam Rosenior can remain on the coaching staff at Pride Park.
Since Wayne Rooney left Derby, Rosenior has been in charge.
The Rams picked up 14 points in the first nine matches of the season and are just outside the play-off places.
Rosenior has been at the club since the beginning of the year.
It's up to Rosenior whether he stays at Derby or not. He has been offered a role as part of the new coaching set up, but is yet to make a decision.
According to Sky Sports News, Paul Warne is the favourite to take over at Derby.
The manager's job at Huddersfield has been vacant for a long time.
