"House of Hammer" was heartbreaking, according to Elizabeth Chambers.
The estranged wife of Armie Hammer said she was surprised by some things in the docu series.
She said she watched it while her children were at school.
The "House of Hammer" documentary series about Armie Hammer's life and family was "heartbreaking" according to Elizabeth Chambers, Armie Hammer's ex- wife.
Chambers said it was heartbreaking and very painful. The news is happening. It is at the same time.
Chambers said that all they could do was take this as a chance to learn and listen, and hopefully process and heal.
One day after dropping her children off at school, Chambers decided to watch the show. She said she kept an eye on her support system.
She doesn't think the series is appropriate for her kids at the moment.
She said that the docuseries team reached out to her, but she wouldn't do it.
"All that matters is the kids and our family, and that was not something that was going to be in line with my goals for them," Chambers said.
Chambers was surprised by some of the content in the series, which covers allegations of systemic abuse by the men in the Hammer family, dating back to Julius Hammer.
Chambers thought that was to be expected.
The actor's family history is explored in the docu series.
Hammer's aunt, who is currently estranged from the rest of the family, said that her father sexually abused her when she was a child.
"You don't just wake up and become a monster, you have to work hard for it," Hammer said. I wasn't surprised by a lot of what was happening because it was a learned behavior.
The trauma she said she experienced during her relationship with Hammer was spoken about by her ex-girlfriend. Hammer was accused of tying her up against her will.
Vucekovich shared messages that she said were sent to her by the actor that said, "I want to eat you."
Hammer's lawyer didn't reply immediately.
